That's how I have mine right now, it does get louder, but it rattles a little well I start to accelerate for about a second. I like the way it sounds a lot and get compliments on it. It would ssound better to gut the cat and put a pipe in, or remove the cat and run it straight to the Flowmaster.

Got compliments on it all the time. Instead of gutting the cat, I would do the Dynomouth setup. Using the stock piping, the total cost, including the Dynomax bullet muffler, was $180 out the door. That included a mandrel bent Y pipe, replacing the entire exhaust piping axle back, rewelding of tips, and labor. Not bad at all if you ask me.
The Flowmaster has a decent sound, but IMHO, it just isn't loud enough, or deep enough.

i have hooker long tubes and y-pipe and 3" pipe from the y-pipe back with a dynomax ultraflow round muffler and single exit(like on the v-6) and people swear mine is loud as heck. its not all that loud in the car but i guess it screams outside. it turns heads all the time and people always ask what exhaust i have.
