You can get an EDGE for alittle over 500 shipped and thats a lock-up conveter built custom to your car with 1 year warranty and 1 free restall. I definetly recomend them, I actually gained some top end after I installed it. That is alittle uncommon with an aftermarket converter, they have a very good product.

What is the stall limit with a 95 ODB1? And do you really want to push it so close with just a cc305? I wasn't going to go that high. Should I?

I am not sure what the stall limit is. I have kinda seem like mentioned on here tho but I havent heard exactly what it is. I think I may go with the 3400. I really do need a tranny cooler. Maybe thats the reason why my tranny is slipping and my 3000 mile tranny fluid is turning brown already??

I don't see how you guys are running 3400+ stall with a little cc305 cam. Most people don't recomend that with a 230/236xtreme cam. The convertor is supposed to be based off mainly at the .050 stats, weight of the car and so on, I can't remember what the specs are on the cc305, but if you guys are running 3500+ with a cc305, I'd hate to see how much you'd put behind a gm847 or cc306 cam.

The thing might slingshot out of the hole, but with that high of stall you are loosing mph because its effiency up top is not nearly as good compared to a lower stall.

Maybe I am missing something here.

For example,
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...ighlight=cc305

This guy is running 12.05 at 113 mph on nittos, with stock heads, bolt on's, he's using a 2800 stall, he got it from Dana at probuilt, who is conservative with his stall speeds anyway. so again, my question is why run a 3400+ stall in a cam thats 220/230 @.050

Re: What kind of stall for CC305??

I'm looking at the same cam and was wondering what stall as well...I'm still asking people about a 2500-2800 stall. I guess the question is...what's the ideal stall for our specific needs and what is reasonably compatible to the cam and other items thats bolted on. I guess for me, I just drive on weekends and I want a weekend warrior that might not see the track...so what stall should I be looking at with 3.73's and shorty headers...so much feedback at the TC info jumps high and low that I have read and I'm lost. Eveyone replies with a RaceTrack mind...hopefully one of these threads will help me understand it all so I can make a decision soon....

I don't think that's entirely true because up top they lock anyways and regardless of stall its going to be locked.

You do know that the Vigilante (Precision Industries) 2800 TC actually stalls around 3200?? It's not quite a true 2800...I've even had one before; it's a little known secret...

With a CC306, I'd personally run NO lower than a 3500 stall if my intention was mostly coming out of the hole hard at the strip...Besides, you'll ET better this way assuming you hook up on whatever tire you're running...

Not much at all...You can get a good one (B&M) that is under $50.00...GREAT investment BTW to protect your tranny from all the extra heat & pressure it endures (especially from an aftermarket TC).
