I am looking at a set of ported and polished LT1 heads, I asked the guy if they were a 3 angle valve job and he said they were done up way more than 3 angle. He also installed "behive" valve springs that will hold up to a 600 lift cam. Just wanted to see what kind of HP gains I would get from them. Any info is appreciated. THanx

 

The LT4 stock heads flow about 15% better than stock LT1, the power is about 15% more on the LT4 stock motors, keeping in mind that both of them had similar sized cams. Professionally ported LT1 flow way more than stock LT4 and if matched with a good cam you can easily get at least 100 rwhp out of them.

 

Just dont by any P&P heads that "have been done up way more than 3angle."

Make sure you get some flow numbers or atleast who did the port work.

And as far as power gains, the most HP ive ever heard of on stock heads was ~350. Take the exact same setup and add a good set of heads and the engine should make over 400.

Your sig says your running stock heads and cam, if you plan on keeping the stock cam im not sure on what kinda power gains you will get. There was a thread about that awhile back. Not sure what the conclusion was but you may wanna do a few serches and check that thread out.
