What if I don't want to get headers right now?

I'm curious about what ya'll think about not going with headers. I installed a LT-4 conversion kit on my 95 M6 convertible and I'm kind of concerned about what is going to happen since i'm using the stock exaust manifolds.....i.e. extra heat due to restricted air flow..... I do plan on getting them but I didn't want to get them yet. Maybe in a few months. I'm also going to get a Hypertech 160* thermostat. Doesn't sound like it will be a good idea to run in the winter time though. Do yall change the stats out durning winter and summer?

160 thermostat in the summer and 180 in the winter. Also remember that you'll need a manual fan switch or reprogram your fans to come on at lower temps for the 160 to be it's most effective.

I can't see why there would be any problem in holding off on the headers though.

Other than sacrificing some horsepower and GREAT sound I don't think it'll be a problem.

You will be fine running the stock exhaust. There will be no extra heat, you just wont see as much hp gain as you would with headers.
The 160 temostat opens when the engine temps. reach 160 degrees. It doesn't care if it's summer or winter!!

Great Thanks Alot......... I'm going to wait a month or so before I get the exaust system. Should I go with shorties or long tubes and which brands are best for the money? I'm going to sell my stock heads and intake so I can get a good start on the exaust system financial needs.....any idea of what I should ask for them.....?
