I broke the plastic elbow that is in the hose from waterpump to heater at from of eng. it broke at the elbow all I saw in it was a coil spring. I cut the one off my other eng with enough hose to couple it, for some reason my heater will only get barely warm, got 180 stat and temp guage stays just under 180 should put out hot air. I checked the diverter door it's ok. any ideas.

 

There is a flow controller in the heater inlet hose. It is a couple of inches long and has a spring in it. I assume it needs to be installed in the right direction to work properly. Otherwise, you might need to flush your heater core.

 

I installed the flow control exactly as it was on other eng, since i saw no check valve or ball thought it may have lost out of it, I only saw the spring. oh well... I'll flush the heater core. Thanks D Mc
