What (hose) is this that stands before me

Hello, I replaced my air filter the other day and always wondered but never found out what the rubber hose is that you slide off the back of the intake between the airbox and MAF? thanks in advanced.

if it a large hose,3/4" in diameter it is your fresh air supply to the smog pump,or if its the small hose that is on the air boot between the maf and TB that would be your vent tube to cool the opti

My Dad has a 94 Z. I will check his out see if it has the same setup as mine.

it might not be if its the opti vent hose, since 95+ only had them

it can also be the air pump hose like stated

It is my impression that the opti vent hose is attached on the intake elbow in front of the throttle body. The AIR hose is between the MAF and air filter. Judging by his description, it is likely the AIR hose.
