It just kind of fell out when I was replacing pads and rotors today, so I went around to the other side to see how it was supposed to be and there wasn't one on the drivers side. I just left it out, and the brakes work fine. Does any one know what the funtion of that H clip is?? Will I be alright without it?

You should be ok without it, it's just an anti-rattle clip for the pads. You may hear a slight increase in break squeal but that's it.
