What is a Governor Pressure Sensor?

This isn't for my Camaro but for my Durango.
I've had such great advice with my camaro I was hoping i would reciece the same help with my new problem.

I'm getting a code P1757 which is the "governor pressure above 3 psi in gear with 0 mph". Desc.= governor pressure is greater than 3 psi when requested to be 0 psi.

Another code is P1762 which is governor pressure sensor offset volts too low or high.

What is a governor pressure sensor?
What is wrong with the car? Has not power, seems to be stuck on one gear.

Can I fix this myself?

Thanks
oliver

Your governor spring sound like they might be stuck and not opening up which means you'll have too much pressure back there and your tranny won't shift. Prolly replace the governor and it should be ok...
