What Else Is Left? LT1 Won't Start
What Else Is Left? LT1 Won't Start
One day the '97 LT1 decised not to start. I drove it the past weekend without problems, but I did note that the engine did take a few more cranks to fire up than normal.
The engine cranks & cranks but doesn't fire. So here's what I've checked or replaced so far.
--New opti
--new Crank position sensor
--new ignition control module
--I get a very hot spark from the primary coil wire to ground so I know that spark is at least getting to the opti, which tells me the coil is good.
--fuel pressure is ~50lbs at the shrader valve.
--fuses all look good
--security (VATS) system doesn't seem to be the problem since the engine cranks. I believe the VATS will keep the starter from engaging, which is not the case here. When I turn the ignition key, the Security light comes on, then goes off.
-- no SES light, nor codes.
About the only thing I can imagine is that the injectors aren't opening up. How do I check to see that the injectors are getting a signal to open up?
Man this is frustrating!

take a screw driver and listen to your injectors, you should here them ticking.
spray some starting fluid into the intake while cranking... and see if it even starts.
