What does the Shiny metal (computer) box under the dash do?

If someone still needs to know what that metal box is behind the glove box, it goes to the air bag, well the connections go to it I mean, not sure what it does, the sensor or activator i guess?

Yeah, I figured that out. Thanks. It has a bright Yellow connector on it and has a yellow strip around the wire. The wires that run from it to under the center console run to an airbag sensor.
