looking at your sig, whats traction

the LS1 - NA for NA is taking out the LT1 plain and simple
the engine is just leaps and bounds ahead of the LT1

its a cleaner lighter smaller motor making more power.

Yes I know I need to get a new trans, or swap the input shaft and a few other items, might just cryo treat the trans while I'm at it, I need the LS1 fuel cell as well, k member, etc. etc.

it will prob be cheaper to just sell your car and get an LS1 that needs a rebuild

How do you figure man? After all of the suspension mods, interior mods, exterior repainting, wheels, tires, brake setup, cage... it's not like I'm throwing in a stock LS1, not even a mild LS1 in it, so I don't understand where you are coming up with this? The engine is going to cost well over $15,000, a salvaged fuel tank is about $75 from a yard around here and I've already planned for the Kmember... how would it be cheaper to sell my car and buy an LS1 car? Lets not forget the higher insurance rates too.

Buildup goes like this.

STOCK Present till 5/03
----------
Replace all stock components that didn't come with the vehicle
HAWK Pads
New front tires
6 Speed Swap/Aluminium Driveshaft
Headers, cat, catback, CAI
Sound deadener
Subframe Connectors
Undertray cleaning, complete revamp of all wiring and misc. components
Brake Ducts

REBUILT ENGINE 5/03 till 3/04
----------------------
SS/GS Wheels and new tires
new cd deck and convertor
Coil Over's
home built 12 bolt
all suspension mods and tuning
Harwood Hood
Repaint front end and blemishes

LS1 SWAP
-------------
LS1 Engine/Fuel cell
T56 rebuild
Carbon Fiber Driveshaft
"Bolt on" dual exhaust
Ready for product testing.

contrary to popular belief....it does not take much to run with an LS1.

1.a good tune with LT1 edit(no hypertech crap)
2.a good gear
3.sticky tire (traction)
4.free mods and...exhaust,intake

nothing else is needed. dont need nitrous, blower, ect. just bolt ons. it is completely possible. dont waste your money on a TB or MAF.

read my sig. i am planning on running a 12.7 this year (STOCK MANIFOLDS,suspension, rear end, heads and cam)

LS1
i say LSwhat???

Do whatever it takes you to run ~13.2 or better and you'll be just fine.

Seems like you're just another who thinks the LS1 is magic... IT'S NOT. For the money you're going to blow on that LS1 you could make a LT1 that would walk all over that LS1 ANY DAY! As others have correctly stated the LS1 has very well designed heads.. if you open your LT1 up and port the heads you can keep up with the LS1 very easily and have soooo much money left over that you could buy a poweradder and really have some fun. I think you're wasting your time and money.. but hey it ain't my time and money so do as you please with it

AS I SAID BEFORE!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't know what I have planned in the future, sure I could make 900+hp with an LT1, but I will be using 210cc AFR heads, etc. etc. cast iron block, sure I could get a wicked bottom end in there for about 1/2 the price of an LS1 bottom end... I want experience with the LS1, there are plans I have for my future that revolve around that generation of engine, and I want to get as much experience with it as possible. You wouldn't understand as I said before. Don't you think I thought it out before hand? It would make a hella of a lot more sense for me to stick with the LT1 if all I wanted to do was build a single car, but the fact is the new generation of small blocks is a lot more emmisions friendly, and with stock heads, high boost, and the bottom end to boot dollar for dollar you will come out on top.

Map goes like this.

-Finish Bronco
-Camaro Buildup
-LS1 Crate Design into Camaro
-Market LS1 Crate Engine, CARB approved headers, and CARB approved dual exhaust
-Test LS1 crate engines in sports prototype open track cars
-Run Laguna Seca, Sears Point, Sebring, Petit Le Mans in sports prototype with twin turbo LS1 derived engine
-Production vehicles using LS1 engines, as well as twin turbo LS1 derived engines

No do you see why I want experience with the LS1? But I won't be making enough money till about a year from now to really start working on this, so I need something to hold me over.

Why does everybody just jump to these conclusions?

Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah i figured i could do it with just some bolt ons. I am just waiting for some money. One other question i plan on going with 4.10 gears and some hooker LTs and i was wondering will i be able to hook with some NItto DR? I was also reading some of ya'll replies and i saw that you mentioned computer tuning, what exactly can they do for me if i just have headers, gears, free mods, CAI? I know when i get my cam i will need tuning but why would i need it before that? Will it actually make a difference? Thanks for your help.
