Unhappy What does it feel like when......

your fuel injectors are not providing enough fuel to the engine? I perfomed a cam swap about a month ago and I still have not been able to drive my vehicle. My car just doesn't respond to the throttle (see old post for more info http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...&page=1&pp=15). I still have stock injectors and I have not had the PCM reprogramed for the cam. I'm getting ready to send it out but I'm not confident this will fix the problem I'm having because I have read post after post about fellow F-body enthusiasts performing cam swaps and they were able to drive it immediately after. I thought that I had an opti problem at first so I bought a new opti and installed it and it didn't make much of a difference. I'm just wondering if my stock injectors and stock fuel pump is not capable of getting the job done. I'm running out of ideas and it's killing me that I can't drive it. I got a good deal on 42lb injectors awhile back. Can I use them and have the computer programmed so they work properly in a 330RWHP(est.) engine?

not sure excactly how to feel that out since i have never been in that situation, but you can pull a plug and check it to see if it is running lean. the best bet is to get an auto x ray or scanmaster and see the injector output %. obviously, if they are working too hard, it's starving of fuel.

Going by the list of mods you have done I would have to say 42 Lbs injectors are to big. Did you ever get the fuel pressure checked? I know alot of guys who have done cam swaps and are running long tubes and still running the stock injectors and are running great. As for guys doing cam swaps and being able to drive their cars afterwards. This does not always apply to every car. All cars are different. When I first did a cam install on my one Trans am, The car barely idled and it would back fire when I got on it every now and then. I got the computer reprogrammed and it took care of it. Also, are you positive when you installed your cam, That you lined the timing chain marks perfect? My buddy did a cam install and he had his off a tooth. It had alot of the symptoms you have. I took it apart and seen it was retarded a tooth. He had literally turned his manifolds a different color from them getting so hot. I would check the fuel pressure and get the programming done.
