Ok, here are my personal observations on my SLP CAI.

#1, the filters were a little tough to get on the tubes, so I recommend a LITTLE vasoline, it makes it MUCH easer to get them on.

#2, The whole CAI moves the elbow and MAF a little more toward the passenger side of the car than they are with the stock intake, so this makes tie stock elbow a little more difficult to get back into place. Be careful not to rip it.

#3, I had to resuse one of the rubber clamp gaskets off my stock air intake to get my MAF to mate up with the CAI, it just slips right off the stocker and right onto the SLP.

As for gains, on the stock exhaust the car felt like it lost a little on the low end, just enough to notice really but not bad. It did gain a little up top though so this kinda offsets the loss at the line.

Once I put the Magnaflow cat-back on my car, I began to see the real advantages of having the CAI.

Totally stock, my A4 dyno'd 238 RWHP and 275.3 RWTQ
With CAI and Catback I dyno'd 264 RWHP and 289.9 RWTQ.

It might not be as impressive as some, but when the only thing to change is the CAI and catback and you pick up 26 RWHP, it proves the value of the better breathing.

You asked what I think, and that's it.

If I had it to do over, would I buy another SLP, YES!!!

Oh, and I've NEVER had a problem with heat soak.

so i already have the loudmouth on my car...love it...but it would be a damn good power upgrade if i got my hands on one of these SLP CAIs? i might have to look into it and get the combo of a catback and intake...i didnt really see much gain from installin the loudmouth, but maybe if i get the CAI, that power will show up

Wink SLP #1

Before this thread I WAS 100% LPE CAI, but now I have been inducted to the SLP cult and cant seem to leave. Looking at the gains from ProjectTransAm and LWilliam I'd have to say that SLP's CAI is now my first choice for CAI. Great thread guys thanks for the information and good luck with your cars. Oh, and as far as the holes in the SLP panel, do the filters stick out over it or is it flush with the edge of the cones? Just wondering. Thanks.

Did you dyno it? Your butt-o-meter isn't very accurate.

I just got mine. I have to say I really like it. My car is black so I like the black powder coat. Very good construction! The two filters are a bit to get on without interference. But over all this is a GREAT CAI. I like this one.

Well you got rid of it now. It was the quote that you had in there. It was a few sentences full of ebonix.

Make your own I used one can of black gloss spray paint and clear coat and it looks AWSEME. Plus the tubbing is larger and it reaches down farther plus i have the ram air scoop, so i could safely say that i got more gain than any aftermarket one, and it only cost $60

I love mine.. the heat soak crap is a myth.

They all perform the same IMO, the SLP just looks 341234124907281402374124x better
