Getting ready to start my new engine for the first time. It's been two months down and can't remember where this goes and or what it does...

It is a little black box that sits on the odd side of the block with two vaccum hoses comming out. Now I eliminated the egr system and can't remember where those vaccum hoses go, I know one goes on the side of the intake and the other one? Also what happens if I just eliminate it all?

Vapor/charcoal canister purge solenoid. You *could* just eliminate it all, but there's no power to be gained and its not really in the way of anything. The other hose should go to the vapor/charcoal canister.
