Not really on the dime but DD2000 shows 264 at 4500 rpm.

They don't have that much drivetrain loss.

I agree. When my A4 SS was bone stock it dynoed right at 260rwhp. That was after I drove it for 30 minutes to Dallas in 95+ degree heat and coolant temp was way up there. Damn factory fan settings!

If they have 285 FLHP take a 20% loss and you get 228 RWHP. I would like to see a BONE stock 97 A4 run 250 RWHP.

For reference.. when my car had about 50k miles, stock plugs/wires.. through my A4, it made 252rwhp and 282rwtq with an SLP cold air and Hooker catback...

After adding the Hooker LT's and the 2800 Vigi the car dyno'd 271rwhp and 30x rwtq... when the converter flashes on the dyno the rwtq #'s are amazing.. 360+ rwtq.. but true to life is more around the 305ish #

20% isn't a universal loss number, most A4 cars dyno between 245-250 I have seen 3 myself. Biggest mod was a cat-back.

They don't run high 13's with 228 RwHp

That is damn close to what I saw when I was still working for a local speed shop - maybe +5 on those numbers but thats it. If I recall the best I saw for bone stock was 253RWHP out of a SS M6 and the autos never broke 240. This was on a dynojet, I just hope everyone is honest about the weather calibrations becuase if you don't have those right - its very easy to have inflated numbers.

FWIW My 96 dyno'ed at 238.0 RWHP and 275.3 RWTQ with the following mods @ ~73k miles:

TB Bypass
160* thermostat.

That's it. Stock airbox, stock exhaust, stock plugs and wires.

I drove the car 100 miles to get to the dyno that morning.

The car is an A4 with (not that it matters) 2.73 gears.

My 96 M6 Trans Am dyno'd at 279rwhp and 312rwtq. The only modifications done to the car are a 3" exhaust cutout, LT4 knock module, and a WS6 ram-air hood and airbox. It's still running on the original iron manifolds, thermostat, plugs, plug wires, optispark, and PCM - and it had 85,000 on the odo during that dyno.

Some LT-1's are just stronger then others. I don't know why but it happens. The guys at the shop were amazed that my car made the numbers that it did. They said that it was making the same numbers that m6 SS cars were making. When I raced LS-1's I always won down low and was even up top. I don't have a video so it doesn't matter. Like I said before, some LT-1's are just stronger then others.
