Re: What do you think of these flow numbers
Bret,
I just finished working on a car tonight that the porter claims 306 out of the LT-1 castings with 2.00 intake valves.I can't see it and think he has a very "HAPPY" flow bench.Mind you it is only talk and no one has produced any flow sheets.
I told them to hang out a shingle on the net and in two weeks there would be an 18 wheeler full of heads at his door.
The car don't run like it even has 250CFM and sounds like it has a 100lb flywheel. Is just won't get up on the motor.11.22ET@3000lbs
Sooooo the claims are going around about 300+CFM on these castings.I am no engineer but I have never seen or heard of that kind of flow through a 2.00in valve or a 2.02 on a Chevy or a Ford.
They may be flowing them with 30# of boost????

Re: 310 cfm LT1 heads
If they could be mergerd, that would be great.
I have not been on the site long since the format change and as I mentioned, talking on the phone and being on the computer had alot to do with it as well.

Re: What do you think of these flow numbers
I'm not going to enter this discussion except to say one thing...
Tony has been doing Buick 8445 castings (turbo Buick) since late last year. I have a set that I've yet to put on the car for fear of breaking the stock shortblock. The heads are, however, working their way onto more and more cars in the region (Philly, N.J., N.Y.). The flow numbers on my heads are also very impressive given the castings. Tony flowed a friend's Champions (al, for a stage motor) on his bench, and they matched Champions' claimed flow numbers. He compared these to a set of his ported 8445's, and the irons, although having a lower peak #, outflowed the Champions in the mid range. It is important to note that those heads were untouched.
The reason you probably don't see ET's for some of the cars listed on the site is simple...they're street cars. They race on the street, sometimes for $$$, sometimes not. The white 'boo, the Olds and the Firebird are on the street.
My suggestion would be, rather than questioning him on the internet, step up, call the shop and talk to Tony.

Re: What do you think of these flow numbers
VPE,
I'm local and I happen to have my heads off of my car right now. I will give you a set of stock lt1 castings to port and we can setup whatever testing everyone wants to see. PM me if you want to set this up.

Hmm... I'm running 11.2 on a BONE stock bottomend with ported 1.94/1.50 factory LT1 castings in a 3,500+ Lb TA. Oh it's a street car too. Can I asume that if I bolt a set of these bad boy 310 cfm heads on I'll be WELL into the 10's?

I don't know how they were flowed, a buddy of mine did the heads and had them flowed for me.
Re: What do you think of these flow numbers
give the guy some time to respond..........you gotta remember, not everyone checks the net daily like us freaks...........some people only get online once a week.
Re: What do you think of these flow numbers
They obviously don't exist....if Lyod says that it's near impossible then I agree. Some of the best porters on this board say it's impossible so i'd say this is just a ploy.
I'll take a free set
I want 1/4 times on these heads on an LT1, oh wait.....too bad they don't exist
