ok. going to gainesville raceway june 4th... and me and a friend have been going at whos faster... hes got a 99 trans am with a slp lmI exhaust and slp air box. nothing else done to his. now heres my mods. 94 camaro z28 with: k&n intake, Granatelli MAF, Vortech Elbow, 58mm TB, True duals, Pacesetter LTs, NGK-TR55 spark plugs, and dual 2.5" cut outs. with the cut outs right after the headers. So my question is. do you guys think i can win this when we go down? Im really hoping the pacestters will really help with this. i havent been able to get a tune but have used a hypertech on it. dont kno how much that really helps. lol. well lets see what everyone thinks.

id say its on the driver, you both only have some exhaust mods and air intake. the 58mm TB on a stock LT1 isnt giving you any hp, and neither is that MAF. the ls1 already had 30-40hp on the LT1 from the get go. if you get the headers on that will help you out a bunch.

 

I think the ls1 will still take it. Unless he/she absolutely sucks at driving. You may get them off the line but top end will probably get the better of you... happened to me on a near stock ls1 vs. my car (check sig) I think he started to pass me at about 90~mph... of course we started on a roll too, about 45mph.

 

You have intake and exhaust, even if the ls1 was stock, he would still win. Good luck though. Are both cars auto's or m6's?

EDIT: if your in an m6 and hes in an auto, it will be closer but I highly dout you will win.

 

ok. keep it comin. i think im a better driver then him by a big margin. hes never been to a drag strip before as i have so i have a lil more feel for it.
