http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/share....tate=RETRIEVED

do you guys think a new motor is needed? thanks alot.

the knock increases with acceleration and decreases when the rpms go back down. what do yall think it could be. also, the knock isnt as bad when the car is cold, but once it warms up, the knock doesnt go away. thanks alot guys.

The site is down for maintenance or something but how is the oilpressure when it warms up compare to before the knock?

The oil pressure is fine, right where it needs to be. that also goes for the temp.

Not great sound reproduction in the video, but sounds like it could be a bearing. OP and temp still could be fine and have a bad bearing.

So how can i check if it is actually a bearing? would it mean that i need a new short block? if so, that is kinda ok because i have the money right now for it.

sorry about the quality of the video, i took it with my phone.

also, since i am now in the market for a short block, does anyone have a 383 for sale in texas?

Almost sounds like there is a spark plug out... from that video it's hard to tell. See if you can barrow a camera from someone and get a better video.

Sounds very similar to that, plus it's easy enough to just look and see that all plugs are there or not, lol.

No no no... that's not what I am saying, haha... I'm saying it sounds like you had a plug blow out of the head, not a "bad" plug.

yea, i was gonna say, i dont think that is the problem. but ill give it a look. you never know!

its weird cuz the car runs fine (that that i am driving it), its just that bad knocking. if it is a bearing that would pretty much mean my engine is toast, right?

An easy thing to do is check under the valvecovers first so you know there is nothing wrong there(loose rocker, broken spring etc.).

yea, thats what the video is. i thought it was something in the valve train so i pulled the valve cover. but everything seemed fine. rockers were doing their thing, springs looked alright, and the pushrods seemed ok. i didnt unbolt anything though. so, with that said, what do you suggest should be my next step to figuring out whats wrong?
