What do ya'll think? No Start Problem

Last week, my Son and I installed the coated Pacesetter long tubes on his '94 Formula. We also installed a fresh Posi and some 3.23 gears (the car had 2.73 gears stock). I reprogrammed the computer for the new gears and we were ready to rock. The car was very strong. It surprised me as to how much difference those changes made. It already had ported heads and a 305 camshaft. The headers really woke up the engine. A few days later, the car went dead on him while I was following him. It wouldn't restart. It lost all spark. I thought maybe my MSD coil had let go or maybe the Opti crapped out. I replaced the Opti with a new one that I had laying around and it still won't start. The coil is firing (I put my timing light on the coil wire.) The plugs aren't firing. All signs point to another bad Opti. Have any of you ever got a bad Opti from GM? I noticed that the harness connector wire was extremely difficult to remove from the Opti. When I finally did get it removed...there was this blue powder on the connector that looks almost like corrosion. What do you think this means? Thanks in advance for your help.

if the coil is fireing then at the least the low res signal is good. so in this case the car should start. the blue powder is a form or corostion and should be lceaned off from the connector and some dielectric grease should be used to seal it off.

after that you can run these tests to find out what all you are missing

HJH,
Thanks for your help. That's a very informative link. I'm printing it as we speak. It does seem odd that the coil is firing, but no spark is getting to the plugs. It's almost as if the rotor was left out of the Opti...
I'll install another new one on it and we'll see what happens. This time I'll definitely put some dielectric grease on the Opti harness connector as well.
Thanks!
Kevin
