What do u scan ur cars with?

Hello i was wondering what every1 scans their cars with to troubleshoot their probs? Is the only option the autotap? And how do u know specifically what numbers the car should run. By numbers I mean the air/fuel ratio, MAF, fuel pressure numbers etc. Most of the tech stuff i know on my car is because either the part has broken or i have asked on this board. help an amateur out. Thanks!

I use a little gizmo everyday (mounted in the dash vent!) called a ScanMaster. I also have Diacom which does recording and graphing. I have LT1 Edit and opted for the $50 option to get their own scan tool that also records. www.carputing.com

I'd like to get TTS Datamaster because it has more features than the above.

I bought a Digimoto setup for $99 which does a lot too for OBDII cars. Got that for when friends with OBDII come over to work on their cars in my garage. I've also got free beer for them too. I try to accomodate my buds. LOL!

so which would be the easiest to use? and where did you get it? I don't have a PC laptop (though i do have a mac ). Ive seen pics of your scanmaster because ive been to your site multiple times. Does that record numbers and then you replay the numbers and read what code it is?
