Are you talking about the hole in the block, that the intake bolts to? If I were you, I'd take a trip to Sears or whoever and buy a tap for that bolt. I believe its a 3/8"-16 x 1.38" bolt, according to Shoebox's website. Just chase the threads with a tap and then blow the chips out of the hole with compressed air. If that is still messed up, tap it out with the next size up and buy a new bolt.

If the threads are there but messed up you can run a tap down it and clean it up, however if the threads are gone you will have to heli coil it. You can use a 90 degree drill, that would work better than a regular drill. Becareful and make sure you don't get any shavings in your engine.

Good luck

Do what patriot said first. If that doesn't fix it, go get a 90 degree drill to drill it out for a helicoil. They also make an air powered 90 degree drill also. Might be cheaper.

Is there any threads left at all? Try putting some JB Weld around the threads of the bolt then thread it in all the way down slowly then back out. Let it dry and cure completly and you should be good 2 go again. I've never done it myself but I know a couple people that have.

Marcin,

What he said. I wouldn't go the JB Weld or Permatex route. A 90 degree drill would probably be expensive to buy, but should be able to rent one. Also a die grinder with a drill bit might work. Either should give you enough room to drill even up under the cowl.
