If you rebuilt the bottem end that should be "ok". I personally would set it at 6400 shift around 6300. Thats me though.

You'll probably be ok as long as your rebuild tolerances were good and oil pressure is not an issue.

I have mine set at 6500 with the hotcam kit and stock bottom end. I don't shift it that high, I shift around 6100-6200. To be safe I wouldnt take the stock bottom end beyond 6500, some people do but that's really pushing it to me.

I have an HV oil pump and everything checked out so I guess I'll be ok, thanks for your help.
Is there something I can do to my stock rpm guage to make it show higher rpms? I really don't want to put a monster tach in.

What do you mean? I'm not sure about 93's but my stock gauge goes to 7K. The stock gauge isnt very accurate though. I use a Harlan shift light, it's pretty inexpensive and very accurate, it can be set to come on in 100rpm increments. It mounts in the little vent hole at the bottom of the A pillar, its hardly noticable when its not lit up.

i know it goes to 7k, but it's in red and like you said, "not very accurate" plus my a-piller doesn't have the little vent hole.
