what to do??

my timing chain cover just started leaking this week so it needs to be fixed obviously.my car has 137,000 miles on it and my opti and water pump r less than a yr old.what else should i replace while i have it apart?i was thinking timing chain but then i was thinking might as well do a cam while im in there.if i do a cam what else will need to be replaced with my miles??and will a new factory timing chain be able to hold up to say a cc306??

When you change cams, you should replace the valve springs and verify that you are not in coil bind with the new valve lift.

well how much money we talking here??whats the approximate cost of a cam swap to do it right the first time.(rr's dont count)

Approx...

Cam=$250.00
Timing chain and gears=$50.00 or so
Front cover gasket=$15.00
Decent valvesprings=$100.00
Waterpump gaskets=$5.00

Hours of busted knuckles...priceless.

You should be able to reuse your stock lifters assuming they are in good condition.

you'll need intake gaskets, and some new valve stem seals also.
