What to do?

I am not very mechanical, but love working on my car. I hate my motor right now. Shall i have it rebuilt by a pro. or buy a block, build it from scratch and have it installed. Money is an issue.

I would say rebuild it yourself if you have someone with you that knows what they are doing. And then put a nice cam in it.

I would strongly suggest getting a low mileage stock engine and selling yours if it's still running. You need to know a rebuilder very well to trust him to do a cheap rebuilt. Also on ebay there is a shop rebuilding LT1 shortblock for $1500 and giving 100000 mile warranty. He is from Kansas City and been in business for a while. This is a dam good deal
