What could I, should I do to get more horsepower??
My car and mods are in my sig. My mechanic recommended a LT4 Hotcam kit. He said that would be perfect for my car. I'm looking for sound also in a cam. TIA

Yes, a cam is what I would do next. It's not worth spending money on the small, useless stuff + you already have all the other "nice things" to complement the cam like the stall and gears.
The hotcam kit is the best price/value you'll get for a cam kit.
Don't forget the free retune after the cam.

A cam and headwork. If you don't want to dig into the engine that far you can just change the rocker arms and valve springs to 1.6 duration. It will yeild some gains but nothing like a cam and heads.

LT4 cam sounds very similar to stock....so if sound is whatt your lookin for thats not for you...plus there many more cams out there that give you way more power then the LT4....Give Lloyd elliot a try

i would go larger than the hot cam as well get ahold of comp cams and see which one they suggest. Are you going to do head work at the same time? If so make sure to tell them that. The number is 1-800-999-0835.

I would either go HCK or something at least as large as the XE224/230. Since you are already spending all teh money on seperate parts... you may as well go bigger than the hotcam.

I have the cc305. I am very happy with it and it sounds mean as hell, but on my next rebuild (spring '05) I'm going with a cc306 and AI "fully-ported" heads.

Hotcam is always a good choice for a daily driver, and my car has made 350rwhp/350rwtq with it (take it for what it is worth). The XE 224/230 or the CC 305 would also be good choices IMO.

the hot cam kit is awesome i paid 500 for cam roller rockers and everything, made nice power to 337rwhp with all the bolt ons,i have since went a little bigger on the cam when i had my heads done. go for it

As far as cams go though, I'm just a little concerned about stories I've heard on here about spun bearings after bigger cam installs. Can anyone elaborate on this? Thanks for all the replies guys.

well, coming from a man w/ a 6speed and mainly the same mods as you, I would say get a rearend before the cam.... Maybe thats because after I installed the cam I snapped my rearend? 12bolt + slicks = fast times, even throw in some nitrous for some real nice times if you want. Just save that rear-end while it still works!
