What are the components that make up the "BOTTOM END"

Eventually I will be very happy When my car reaches the 425hp-450hp mark. I really don't need/want any more than that. I will not be using force induction of any kind. I will however in addition to what I already have will be adding, headers, 58mm Throttle body, manifold..etc. I want to make sure the bottom end holds up for those kinds of numbers. And even if it does, I would still like to know what all makes up the bottom end so I can upgrade it anyway. Thanks

BTW I have a 94Z

When most people talk of the bottom end they mean the shortblock, or rods, crank, pistons, bearings, etc. I guess you could even include the cam, timing chain. A simple way of putting it would mean everything below the heads.

and oil pump.. oil pan... most people upgrade their crank, rods, and pistons.

Thought if your goals are 425hp... you can do that w/ the bottom end already in your car.. Just need a good set P&P'd heads and a cam.
