what clutch should i get?

Its time to put a new clutch in my 96 SS. I only have the TB Bypass for engine mods now, and only have some minor things planed (roller rockers, headers, LT4 KM, PCM4Less PCM)

So im looking for a clutch that will be just a bit better than stock, so i can still drive hard, but i dont want to spend too much $

Im also looking into throwing in a lightweight flywheel. Are those worth the money. it looks like about $400 from what i see.

Thanks,
Greg

I would recommend going with an RPS clutch. Whatever you do stay away from Centerforce.

Do a search and you'll find a ton of information. This has to be one of the more popular topics. I know SLP makes a kit that is a slight upgrade from stock. Also some people use the LT1 disc with LT4 PP, but don't quote me on that. Do a search and find out for yourself.

With those mods a stock clutch would work fine without the hassles of an aftermarket product.

I have an SLP and it seems to work great. If you do a search, you'll see that there is a lot of people happy with it.

The SLP clutch is a nice upgrade from stock. It's still a stock LT1 disc but they use a modified LT4 pressure plate, they claim it grabs 30% harder than stock. The disc/pp run about $360, their lighter steel flywheel adds another $360 on top of that. I've been using their clutch/pp with my stock resurfaced flywheel for over a year now and its been working great for me, and I've abused it pretty hard in the last year
