What is causing clunky front suspention?

After I put on lowering springs, the front suspention makes these clunk noises. It has been doing this for a good while now and it is driving me crazy. What could be causing this? The bolts that hold up the shock assemby are all nice and snug, so that's not it. The only thing I can think of is that the nut that holds the shock to the top mounting thing(?) might not be tight enough. Any ideas? Thanks.

Bad lower ball joints. Check them.

How would I check them to see if they were ok? Also, the noise happened right after the springs were installed so could the ball joints have been damaged during the whole process?

Did you install new shocks? I had a clunk in my front suspension then after I installed my springs and shocks it went away. (I don't know what it is but it went away)
