It was also an optional engine in any '96 Corvette coupled to the 6-speed

A few Firehawks also, but the only true stock car that came with the LT4 was the '96 Vette.

96 Corvette Grand Sport and Collectors Editions.

97 Firehawk - 29 of them made.

97 SS - something like 109 made.

Carlos said it right. Bone stock cars would be the Vettes since the Hawks and SS's got aftermarket treatment from SLP.

The LT4 only came in 6 speed manual Vettes in 96, but it came in ALL 6 speed cars. The auto Vettes in 96 still got the LT1.

The fact that the 4L60E was not strong enough to handle the LT4 was the reason GM gave for it only being available in the 6 speeds. Of course, they turned around in 97 and released the LS1 with it, but I'm sure they was some beefing up for it to handle the LS1, and now the LS2 in the C6.
