What can be used from the LT1?

Well it seems as though I may have finally found another job after getting laid off from my last. The pay is pretty good and of course after settling and debts I have I would be thinking about another car. I was hoping for an LS1 Camaro. I would get a used vette, but with by driving record insurance would be crazy! Anyway, if I decided to go with an LS1, I would be doing a lot of mods/upgrades to it. What I want to know is, is there anything on the LT1(mainly my 94) that is actually better than a part on the LS1? I heard that the M6 tranny is better on LT1's because it is Barg Warner and not Tremec or whatver that mexican builder is. Would it be worth rebuilding my M6 and putting it in an LS1? Anyother parts that are interchangable that are better on the LT1? Of course this is all up in the air, but for future reference I would like to know.

most everything is interchangable suspensionwise, your tranny will not bolt up from your lt1 to an ls1. the bolt pattern is different. Stock parts, there really isnt a point to put the stuff on an ls1,since it should be the same or better in most cases. but, if you decided to upgrade your suspension, or put a cat back or short throw shifter, then that stuff will be able to be put on an ls1. but nothing involving your engine will carry over to an ls1.

Actually, MacLeod makes an adaptor plate to put any T56 (viper, mustang, LT1, LS1, whatever) behind an LS1. But if you get an LS1 with a T56 already in it, I wouldn't bother changing it over.
