I'm deciding which cam to get for the engine. I only drive it a couple thousand miles a year. I want something thats gonna sound mean. I was thinking the 306, but what are some other options without going solid roller? Should I look into getting something custom or what? I plan on adding at least a 200 shot of nitrous in the future too.

 

I'd go custom. You'll get more out of your combo that way. Just my $.02.

 

What does anyone think of this from combination:

Comp Cams TS233XR Camshaft 233/242 duration @ .050", .569"/.576" lift with 1.6 rockers, 114lsa. Amazing top end pull, extremely lopey idle in stock displacement engine. Nitrous use 200 shot, supercharger 8-16psi.

Or I also had suggested the XE 242/248

Anyone have experiece with these, can't say I remember anyone with them off hand?

 

224/230....I heard that this cam is one of the best cams and great for stock heads but still has more left if you port the heads out! I have this cam and love it and alot more people will agree with me!

 

I plan on running ported heads btw.

 

I agree totally. I made 375/363 at the wheels on the 1st tune through ASM headers AND a Random Tech cat. Full exhaust.
