Well my buddy blew up the motor with his ATI on it. We are reabuilding it 355 probably etc. We were wondering what cam to put in it. Any info would help. Don't know much about blowers.

You may want to contact Combination Motorsports. They will hook you up with the right cam.

 

Well a moderate size blower cam would be a cc 218/230 cam with .495/.510 lift and 114 LSA. Builds power to 5900 rpm.

A mild blower cam would be the cc 212/224 with .487/.503 lift and 114 LSA. Builds power to 5600 rpm.

 

Also do the heads have to be ported differently?

no for blower applications porting the heads isn't that critical, you don't worry about port vilocity with blower so for the most part, the more flow the better with a blower head, with NA you have to worry about port velocity, cc, etc.. everything that contributes to port velocity.
