What cam for 383

I am getting a 383 built with all the good stuff and the heads will be stock ported 2.00/1.60 valves(solid stage2 should flow 270/190ish)
I will also be adding hooker lt`s,58mm t.b and 42 lb injectors

What cam should I go with for lots of power(I am not worried about emissions)
It will also be high compression set up
Also I am not going with a solid roller set up

42lb injectors? I have a 383 in mine and im only running 26lb injectors with the stock 48mm TB though. WOuld I see a big increase in power with the bigger injectors and TB?

Re: What cam for 383

Bigger injectors per se will not increase hp unless the opriginal injectors are too small, which will be manifest as a lean condition. OTOH, there is no downside to injectors that are "too big". The oft quoted formula for minimum injector sizing is a good guideline.

hpxBSFC/# injectors x 0.8

Use BSFC = ~.5 for NA, up to .6 or more for blower apps.

Remember. it's engine hp, not rwhp. Flow rate will vary with fuel pressure by the sq. root of the new FP/rated FP

Using the formula, 400hp needs 30lb/h and 500hp needs 38. Since there is no downside to bigger than needed injectors, I would recommend if you are getting larger injectors, a logical size is the 40lb/h range as they are readily available in this size range and cheap. With the ability to raise the FP a bit, ~40lb/h injectors will take you to well over 500hp. But again, larger injectors than need will produce no gain, so don't think larger injectors are an "upgrade" if you don't need them.

As far as cams, there is so much discussion here that many of us are tired of posting generalities. If you are very specific about your useage you may generate more interest from the people who actually know something about the subject and aren't just parrotting what they read on the Internet. OTOH, they will all give you different answers anyway!
