what would be a good cam to buy, i am eventually going to buy a 383 short block and build up a nasty na motor. but until then i would like to put a cam in just to wake my camaro up alittle bit. but i want to get a cam that i could reuse when i build up the 383. i want to put in something pretty wild. of course im gunna upgrade the valve train, but i want to know if i can put in a fairly nasty cam without modifying the stock intake. with the 383 im going to use a lt4 intake and heads fully ported. so what do you guys think i should do?

 

Go with the hot cam kit. You wouldn't want to use it with the 383 but for the price you can't beat it. The gm 1.6rr by themselves are over $300 and you can get the whole kit for a little more than $500 which comes with those rr's. You could always resale the kit later after the 383 build. I put that kit on my car and hand ported the heads and you wouldn't believe the difference it makes.

 

than dont sound like too bad of an idea, i can allways reuse those roller rockers and sell the cam. i want to do the cam next time im home on leave, and after the up coming deployment that i have i will have way more than enough money to do whatever i want to my car. the next deployment should carry me to the end of my enlistment too,(yes!!!!!).

 

cc305...little less mild then the LT4..and if you plan on returning to jersey it'll pass the sniffer

 

dont worry bud, the sniffer is not a problem for me, picked up a 2007 inspection sticker when i was home on leave over the holidays.
