what is !CAGS,!AIR,!EGR
CAGS is for M6's only...make you shift from 1st to 4th to save gas
AIR! is air injection recirculation, this pumps are into the exhaust to heat the cats up by mix air with extra fuel during start up.
EGR! is exhaust gas recirculation, this pumps exhuast gas back into your motor for emmissions.
all of this is a waste and you should get rid of it, unless the state says you need it!!!
sorry i ment 4th!!!!

I'm not exactly sure what it means, but here's my guess:
the "!" is used in programming languages like java to mean "not."
So i'm thinking they are using it to mean "no" Basically they've taken their AIR, EGR, CAGS or whatever out.
People remove them becuase they are annoying. (Especially CAGS) AIR and EGR are emissions components so don't remove them unless you don't have emissions tests.

The cags people do because it is annoying. The AIR and EGR people usually do because it cleans up the engine bay tremendously. Also a lot of the time people take them off because the air pump goes bad or the egr valve goes out and cause's problems or codes. That is why i took my air pump off is because it went out and i didn't want to pay to replace it. The egr was welded up on my headers so i just deleted it too.

If u get gears like 4.10's for example like i did then skipshift is not bad at all. And it goes from 1st gear to 4th, not 3rd like somebody else said. People usually remove their air pump and EGR if they go bad or when they do a header install.

if you are asking how to do the CAGS (computer aided gear selection) than all you need to do is buy a $30 skip shift eliminator.
i think there is a way to do it with resistors but that may throw a code.

Besides the small amount of weight, there are no performance benefits from removing the AIR pump or EGR. Some of the AIR stuff does clutter the engine compartment, but the EGR is all the way in back of the intake manifold. The only thing it might be in the way of is the oil pressure sensor.
On an OBD2 car (1996 and up) removing the EGR will likely throw a trouble code unless you have it programmed out or take other measures to fake out the computer.
Unless you are doing headers and can get by without emissions stuff, removing all this (if it is functioning) is pretty much a waste of time, IMO.
