the thing is, synthetic is a friction modifier and the m6 tranny syncros work on friction so you do the math
its not AS bad in the auto to run synthetic but it CAN cause SOME slippage if you start getting into the high HP ranges! but by then you should be on your way to a race prepped tranny anyways if your running an auto

maybe so! but as with anything like was said above once you get into the high HP range and start pulling consistent low tens at the track you will switch to regular!

Someone brought up the GMHTP magazine issue with their car...I have always looked at synthetic as cheap insurance, just like they said! Am I wrong?
tranny fluid
i'm planning on a transgo shift kit for my 96 ws6 pretty soon. i heard of a fluid called "Mystic type-F". what's this? i've run type F fluids in gm hydromatics before the "e" computer controlled trannys, and got good results from a "shift firmness" point of veiw. is this fluid compatible with the 4L60E tranny in my car?

OK, so I run past 4,500 RPMs in a near stock car once in a blue moon...is synthetic ok for me, or should I drain it now? Never once had I heard of synthetic being bad for a 6 speed until this thread...I'm rather interested by what people are saying about the 6 speed.
