What bolts/studs require sealant/locktite?
What bolts/studs require sealant/locktite?
Anybody have a complete guide as to what bolts or studs require either thread sealant or locktite when rebuilding a motor?
I know obvious thread sealer studs, like head studs and rocker studs, but are there any others I'm missing?
Should locktite be used on pretty much everything else or do only a few nuts/bolts require it?
Also is seams that permanex high temp thread sealer is the one to use.

If the hole is blind, you don't need anything.
If it protrudes into coolant, oil, or vacuum, use thread sealant. Permatex is what I use.
If you don't want it to come loose, use loc-tite.
If it goes in the exhaust, use anti-seize.
