It would help if you gave some details, your question is very general. My very general answer is to try a test with high octane fuel. At the shop we keep some of both leaded and unleaded race fuel (for cars with and without cats) for this purpose. But in a given situation that may or may not be a logical approach.

i think the real one is the one we all know, but the false knock is stuff we can't hear, but the sensor can. that's why it's false.

i'm having some real knock right now after programming, but have another program on the way. still don't have LT4 knock module, but will probably get soon. might not help much as i'm getting real knock, but can't hurt.

Had a nasty case of false knock myself. The LT4 knock module fixed that for me. I would try that first. If that doesn't work, Rich's suggestion of some 100 octane unleaded would be my next step.

Okay.. I'm getting between 1-4* of knock ONLY and I repeat ONLY on large, rapid throttle changes (punching it, shifting hard, or flooring and taking my foot off the gas quickly). I can take it WOT from 2000 to 5500 and get zero across the board but when I shift boom a few degrees then it goes back down. I can feel it kick in too... And sometimes it doesn't happen at all it's weird. I have a feeling it's fake because if I can floor it through a gear and not get any knock until I shift there's obviously something else going on. Is that enough info?? Any specific questions???

that is probably false knock if it happens when you shift. like everyone else said.. just get some race fuel and see if that cures the knock. it if doesnt then you have false knock. then there are a couple ways to fix the flase knock problem.
