What are the best headers for the LT1?

I am just wondering what everyone thinks are the best headers for the LT1 and also if custom x pipe is the way to go or get a good flowing y pipe? I have been looking at headers for some times and I like the Kooks headers but they are $1014.95 for a set and you can get some Hookers or something for half the price you know so I am just wondering what everything thinks?

I personally use Pacesetters. They work great although the the fit was "slightly" off in mine. The y-pipe is too close to the frame and has a habit of tapping it once in a while.

If you are looking for the "best" in terms of quality, the Kooks are the way to go.

kooks are the best if you are not on limited funds. if you are on a budget it is a toss up between hooker and pacesetter. i chose pacesetter and am happy with them for what i paid. i have had them for about a year and their are some brownish areas where i'm sure they will rust eventually, BUT i was living in a town with snow and had to drive the car when the roads were salted so i'm sure this is how it started.

i have around 650 in my exhaust set up. pacesetter coated longtubes, copper gaskets (header and collector), arp bolts, summit universal x pipe, dynomax bullets dumped.

which is still less than you would spend on the kooks alone. BUT KOOKS ARE THE BEST IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT!
