What Aftermarket radiator are you using?
I am Having problems keeping my engine running cool with my new setup. I have the stock fans and radiator, 160 thermostat and electric waterpump. Everything is fresh...coolant, pump, flush...but i still cant keep it below 210* in 85 degree weather. I was wondering what type of radiator you have had experience with and if you like it. the only ones i really have paid attention too are the BeeCool radiators in Summit mag...any experiences with these? Thanks

I got an AFCO in mine, but it's not quite the traditional style radiator (sits straight up, rather than at a rake). You might want to talk to Portell's down by you. They were gonna build my radiator until I got a deal on the AFCO stuff through the shop.

Are you using any block fill?
Do you have the air dam in place?
I have the Griffen... think it was about $500. I routinely run at 195degF in all weather. Stock water pump, Dex-Cool, Water Wetter. The only time I ever had a problem with cooling was when the shop forgot to put the air dam back under the car. It would run 210-degF at high speeds on the freeway. Put the air dam back on and it ran fine.

A stock radiator should work just fine, but we sell the Griffin radiators at $439.00. Takes about 3 weeks to get them.

Thanks for the replies. I dont have any block fill, and my air dam is in place. I never could figure out what was up with my cooling system...it just always ran warmer than it should, around 185, even with a very mild setup. now its becoming a problem with my engine runnin 220ish after running a while. It has to be the radiator, i think i have replaced everything else. Injuneer, you have an e-mail on some info on the radiator you are using. Intmd8, i will be calling you friday on some info on the griffen radiator.

Did you try flushing your system? Also are you fans programmed to come on early? A stock radiator should be more than adequate to support your setup.

everything was flushed, i just re-built the engine, and everything was empty and washed out. It has to be the radiator, i dont believe there is anything else i havent tried. Right now i have my fans on constantly and it lingers around 185 for about 10 mins then rises up to 210 after about 20 mins total. I dont know whats up, but this is a pretty hot engine setup i have here and the stock rad. looks pretty dinky...so i dont know.
