Is there any way to keep from pulling it off the car, it started popping and acting stupid from some bad weather, it is a brand new unit, i had somone tell me to try dousing it in WD40, anyone got some ideas???

Let it dry out for a few days. It should run with no problems afterward (hopefully), at least mine did.

Don't soak it in WD40, I don't see that being of any help to the problem. Let it dry out for a couple days if you can and hopefully it will be okay. Also, make sure that all of your plug wires and coil wire have tight connections as well.

yeah the best thing to do is just let it sit and air out, and if that dont work, use electrical cleaner like shown below and clean out the optispark. but you may have to take it off for that if you dont have a vacuum to the opti

Pull the intake vent harness hose off the air intake and blow into the hose... if you hear bubbles (IF IT'S ONLY WATER) suck it out like a straw (just don't swallow any) then pull the other hose and disconnect it at the white/blue filter and do the same thing... repeat the same steps.

He said he has water in the optispark… so he needs to get that out!!!!

Spraying contact cleaner is a last ditch effort to save the optispark due to corrosion, (he said his was new) it's also a great way to clog your vent filter (unless you get all the liquid out) it will latter cause total failure of the optispark!

Dont rule out crappy wires that are arcing. Spray some water on your wires and look for sparks. I personally believe the opti is more water tigh than most people think.

I blamed my opti till I heard the popping and saw the fireworks. Replace the wires and ran great.

Yep.. just let it dry out, put a vacuum to the bottom vacuum port of the opti, take the hose off the top one and let the vacuum run for a few.
