Angry Werid

Ok here is my story last friday night i replaced my water pump in the process i broke the hose that travels from the lower passanger side of the water pump to the heater core. i broke it off in this metal fitting about 3 in from the pump (It must have been broken since before i got the car cause it had some adhisive stuff all over it holding it to together) any way i needed the car because it is a daily driver so i cut the hose after the metal fitting and spliced in a new all rubber hose. My car used to run at 180-200 now it heats up untill the high fans turn on at about 230 then it cools too 190 and starts it again. I have tried bleeding 4 times each time slowes the heating but it always does it after a while. any help plzz!

try to flush our your raditor, and quad check for all hoses making sure they have no leaks or air in them......then after flushing out the radiator bleed the screw, maybe even throw in a 160 thermo...

So the metal part would have an effect, or could my new pump be weak?

Zach, I don't know if your 94 has the exact same plumbing as my 97 but on mine there was a black plastic restrictor/valve on the heater hose. I bypassed the metal pipe on my car (needed to re-route to clear the SLP headers) and just used a rubber hose with that valve plumbed into it. I haven't had any problems and Sunny Southern California does not get as cold as where you are.

I did the same thing on mine...the valve broke off and I just bypassed it. My car was doing basically the same thing as yours, except it would never drop in temp, just remain about 230 - 240. I got so frustrated that I put in a Be Cool radiator...it dropped the temp about 10 degrees, but still hotter than I wanted. After this I installed a set of Spal dual 11" fans...I run around 180 now constantly. Maybe your fans are on their way out?

Thx guys for your help i was at my wits end with this but i figured it out. Before the replaced the water pump i put the headers in, and to jack the car up easer we removed the little black plastic air dam. That was the cause it is there to defelect air to the radiator i but it back and its all cool now life lesson out all the stuff back! thx
