Went to the Dyno, results are surprising.
Went to the Dyno, results are surprising.
With the mods in my sig, 68* weather with only 8% humidity, and at 550' above sea level, my car Dyno'd 301.1RWHP and 347.3RWTQ !!
Does this sound high to you guys? I don't know too much about the Dyno, I know it was a Dynojet but the guy I went to pretty much gave me 2 pulls and then it was on to the next. I have the sheet but no scanner. I was told my car would be around 280-290rwhp. I know the weather was great and uncharacteristic of southern california, but damn. Do these numbers look accurate to you guys? I just wanna know if I should hold off before I throw them in my sig.
Thanks Guys.
Ryan

intake, headers, catback and a tune....i would say reasonable...probably knock 5-7 off due to weather and you are right around where you expected.
but yeah...check to see if those are SAE

Re: Went to the Dyno, results are surprising.
Going by your 1/4 mile trap speed, yes I would say you could be making that horsepower. Awesome TQ by the way. You do seem to be 15-20 HP higher than average though with your mods, especially with an A4. Are you sure there aren't new heads or cam in there?
You are about 60 rwhp over a stock A4, which to me is quite a lot for your mods. Your 1/4 mile trap speed doesn't lie though. Your car is not typical, that's for sure.

Re: Went to the Dyno, results are surprising.
Yeah, results are SAE corrected. Sorry about that. Yeah, I was only expecting somewhere around 280 or 285. Everyone around here was surprised to, but I made 2 pulls. The first pull was 299rwhp and 346rwtq I think. I don't have a scanner, I have no way to post the sheet to see if my curves look okay either.
EDIT: I'm at school right now, but when I get back I'll post the exact results of the first pull.

My car dynoed 262/292 with CAI/2800 stall converter/3.73's and a slipping tranny and went 13.216 @ 103.97 the next day.... Full weight car, with a full sound system (2 amps 2 12's custom sub box and 8 speakers total through out the car) and about 10-20lbs of tools in the car.... and I weigh 190lbs.

Those #'s are definitely not the norm for those mod's - good job!
For a bit of reference, I got 326/318 with an XE 224/230. I think my low budget 2400 stall didn't help those #'s at all though... This will change though

Re: Went to the Dyno, results are surprising.
Thank you! Now I just need to work on my driving. My 2.3xx 60' times aren't helping anything. I want to get this car into the high high high 12's, or at least close to it, with only tires, practice, and maybe some suspension mods. I want to be in the 12's/ULTRA low 13's without any more power adders. I think it's possible. Only time will tell though.
