Went from 2nd to 1st (again) - over revved the engine - now runs rough at low rpm???

What the subject says... i missed the 3rd shift and hit 1st, and immediatley after the car runs very rough at low rpm. Like if im crusing at 40 in 5th and try to accelerate a bit, the car vibrates and fells 'bumpy'.
What did i break?
What did i break?

bent pushrods at the least. start it up, pop the hood, and use a screwdriver or a stethiscope and listen along the valve covers. better yet, pull them, and look. and oh yeah, I'd get the driver mod before you drive it again.

u either bent a pushrod or cracked a spring

Ok, i checked out springs and pushrods, they appear to be ok. I have no odd noises (ticking etc...) Usually i can hear anything wrong with my car through my mufflerless exhaust. Is it possible that i killed my 140,000 mile optispark by missing a shift like this? The exhaust seems to be popping between shifts also... running rich i presume.

Alright ya punks, enough unconstructive criticism.
What are the chances that i broke my clutch or something? All pushrods are perfect, no weird noises from engine... Im getting popping from exhaust when i left off the gas.... and it runs rough throughout the rpm band, but its more harsh at low rpms.
Thanks

Do a compression test. A bent valve will show up.
About the only thing a severe overrev wil do to the clutch is explode it, but not to worry. You engine would go first.
I'd let you drive my car...it's an A4.

ha! i can drive an a4 like a pro.
i cant believe a bent valve can cause the whole car to run like crap.
I would notice a toasted clutch right? As of now it shifts and grabs pefect with no noises.
I planned on doing heads/cam over the winter, so this is just a kick in the *** forcing me to do it i suppose.
are you making fun of my question or is that a serious question?

the fact that it still runs is a good sign that the opti is fine, usually, if high revs kill the opti, the rotor grenades and it woun't run any more
