Weird Vibration around 4000 rpm.

Ok, this has been bugging me for long enough

Have a nice little vibration around 4000 rpm and it’s gone by around 5000. Happens in gear or in neutral. Moving or not.

Stuff that i have.... Poly tranny mount, and tq arm mount.
Street Twin with a steel flywheel.

What can be causing the damn vibration? I don’t think it can be a flywheel? Everything is nice and smooth till 4k and then it vibrates and it’s gone by around 5k. What should i start checking?

The vibration began after I put the street twin in.

Usually if they are bad they will be distorted badly or ripped.

Marcin,
I have the same thing ( after the ST install), and it's been bugging me also......I have a new tranny mount, new u-joints( rotated shaft 180*), and even put in a new tail-shaft bushing in , and its still there

I'm thinking it could be the Street Twin

I think when I was checking every other thing .... that was on my list .... but I'm going to double check the mounts tomorrow to be sure. ( I even took a look at the balancer, and that looked good ) I keep you posted .

ok here is the solution to the problem. I finally got in touch with Mcleod and their tech told me that i should turn the pressureplate 2 bolts over to fix the problem or to take the whole assembly and get it rebalanced. He said turining the pressure plate over 2 bolts will most likely fix the problem thou.
