He said it was telling the #7 injector the wrong info and that was what was causing it. I didn't talk to him my better half did but I don't get it. Since there was still no spark after it would die and that was the only thing we traced it to since all the other stuff to do with spark was good. He also said it could take a while for an opti to show a code with the code reader while its in the process of going bad. Whatever the case at least it doesn't strand me now...sure tired of replacing opti's tho. This is the second one this year, 4th for the car since I got it back in 96.

 

Maybe I don't know all the actual functions of the opti, but idk how it actually effects the fuel system like the injectors. Maybe the points were corroded or the sensor was failing...?

Just wondering since I'm trying to get more info on the opti for possible causes to my own problems.

 

you know mine is doing the same thing, i dont get it... my opti is brand new as of 3 or 4 months ago, and it doesnt have more then 20 miles on it, (i dont drive my car much)

but itll start up get warm and die...

any clue on whats causing this?

ill get to 160 deg, my SES light comes on and then it bogs and dies.... ive replaced the temp sensor, radiator, and bled the entire cooling system.. and still it dies...

when i drove it a few days ago to a shop to get my exhaust fixed it ran and drove fine. now this? wtf???
