Sounds like the throw out bearing. If it rattling that's normal. Besides the "click" you hear when putting it into reverse does it present any other problems? Hard shifts?

i think most of the money will be in labor charges. i am debating whether i want to drop my tranny myself or not too. by the way, yours needs to come out to replace the throw out bearing. i don't have a tranny jack and i don't know what exactly i am doing. the bearing can not be too expensive. i am not promising you that the bearing is your problem but its very possible. i actually think one of my clutch springs broke. reverse for me has always been tricky. sometimes it doesn't want to go all the way up and then you will hear a grinding if you let out the clutch. good luck
