This doesnt happen all the time but sometimes when i give her like half to 3/4rths throttle from a stop it shifts pretty hard out of first and like dropps and catches low in 2nd then has to climb b/c it dropped so low...why doesnt it catch 2nd gear higher? what could this be

 

When was the last time you had the bands and linkage checked? Or for that matter the fluid and filter changed? Maybe a tranny service might help.
