weird miss need some advise/ second opinion

ive pretty much tracked it down to the opti. here is what it is doing. its missing a little. lol like its not a dead miss. like a half miss. when i hold the throttle at lets say 2200 rpms or so it will fluctuate about 100-200 rpms by its self. im getting p0336 cps code. i have a cc 503 cam and rr's thats about it......help btw its an all ignition opti, and if i recall the p0336 code came on after i put that opti on before the cam install....

If it's a so called half miss it sounds like a secondary ignition problem . Plug wire , plug or cap and rotor. I'm not up on OBD2 codes what is that code you listed?

The crank position sensor would not cause a misfire or any running issues.

i know the cps will not cause a miss. what i mentioned that for was there are several people who get that code on obdii cars when their opti is failing. its becuase the pcm uses the opti signal on engine posistion over the cps if they dont match. it then sets code p0336 for the cps being out of range. i know the wires are good, checked them in a pitch black garage. new autolite 104s, msd cap and rotor. and the all ignition opti. i know, i should have never put it on...btw the cps has been swapped out and this code started comming and going after that opti install. i have since cammed it and all that good stuff. the opti was installed on a stand, so im 1,000,000,000 percent sure it is indexed correctly along with the timing set also.

I had a random miss that may be helpful. Turned out to be a small air leak around the #1 injector gasket. It was creating a lean misfire. Sprayed starter fluid around in small bursts until I found it. Though, always have a fire extinguisher handy....
