LT1 - check your MAP sensor vacuum line

mine was making a hisss and little down on power, small vacuum tube to the MAP sensor was cracking around the end, it's the one under the PCV on passenger side.

wrapped some electrical tape and used a screw down band clamp. all fixed much better. should probably eventually buy a new one tho

Sorry, but the MAP sensor has no tube. It is directy attached into the intake manifold.

Under the PCV on the passenger side? Vettes are different, my PCV is on the driver's side. Describe what it was you fixed.

Okay, I see. I was thinking you were referring to the positive crankcase valve itself.

First, the top hose is not the PCV tube. Its the hose that supplies clean, MAF measured air to the passenger valve cover so the PCV valve on the driver's side of the intake manifold can pull the air through the crankcase and the lifter valley.

The hose below that is the vacuum source for the EVAP purge system. The solenoid on the bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold opens, to allow engine vacuum to pull air in through the charcoal canister, in the drivers rear fender, to purge the hydrocarbons it has collected from the vapor venting from the fuel tank.

Again, Shoebox has the answer:
